A FATHER’S MEMORY (Rasamindrakotroka Andry Tiana)

Was it not you, my steadfast guide,
whose rules were drawn with humble pride?
Each lesson, firm yet full of grace,
led us along the righteous trace.

You cherished peace, sought no acclaim,
and loved all others just the same.
In silent ways, your acts would show,
a heart that felt for every woe.

You stood, a wall in troubled days,
unshaken by the storm’s displays.
You never mixed the dusk with light,
but kept the truth in clearest sight.

Your voice was calm, with strength inside,
a quiet force, a trusted guide.
No harsh command, no vain demand,
just love concealed in gentle hand.

You lived the words the Scriptures teach,
their wisdom firm in all your speech.
And though your hand could bring us pain,
it shaped our souls, not just in vain.

Some saw you stern, aloof, severe,
like winter skies, so still, so clear…
Yet deep within your silent art,
there burned a vast and tender heart.
