March twenty-ninth, a date to recall,
when brave Malagasy began to stand tall.
They fought with courage, hearts full of flame,
for freedom's cause, not fortune or fame.

March twenty-ninth, the cries were repressed,
our people knelt, broken, sorely distressed.
And still today, resentment fills the air,
silence preferred, lest bullets tear.

March twenty-ninth, a time to reflect,
not to divide, nor blame or neglect.
But to unite, and with one voice declare,
our nation's rise, built strong and fair.

March twenty-ninth, a chapter of pride,
never forgotten, time cannot hide.
In honor of heroes who dared to defy,
countless in number, their spirits still fly.

March twenty-ninth may turn into lore,
perhaps ignored, remembered no more.
Or used as a tool by those seeking fame,
a thought that sets the soul aflame.

March twenty-ninth, may unity start,
and end all strife that tears us apart.
Let social needs and growth take place,
and guide us toward a juster pace.

March twenty-ninth, let freedom be born,
no more ruled, no more forlorn.
May joy be shared with the youth to come,
and selfish pride be overcome.
