You and I walked side by side,
through many a passing year.
Brothers in soul, with hearts allied,
and friends we held most dear.
Never astray, no cause to hide,
true bond that shunned all fear.

You and I strove hand in hand,
through life’s unyielding tide;
Hard the paths we chose to stand,
yet toil kept pain denied.
Seizing time like grains of sand,
to claim the love we sought inside.

You and I, with futures near,
eyes fixed on days to be,
bracing storms without a fear,
though fate struck suddenly.
Unshaken still, no fall to bear,
face to face, yet bound and free.

You and I, now time has flown,
and still, we do not part.
With wiser minds and spirits grown,
firm roots within our heart.
No fall can shake what we have known,
no force can break our chart.

You and I, this truth we own:
God’s love our guide, our light.
Through trials never left alone,
then as now, by day or night.
And still we’ll tend this love full-grown,
with care unending, fierce and bright.
