A couple’s not two souls that meet by chance one day,
But lives the heavens chose to see the same old way;
They walk side by side, each a light to the other,
Braving life’s winds, strong, united together.

A couple? Two beings from worlds far apart,
Raised in homes where customs shaped heart?
Their past, their knowledge, by other hands spun,
Still drawn to the path that leads them as one.

A couple? The dawn of love’s gentle rise,
Where faults are forgiven with time and with sighs;
Embracing all difference, with peace as the goal,
For true love demands calm deep within the soul.

A couple? 'Tis to build a hearth of peace,
Where tempests hush and vain disputes shall cease;
To bend, not break, to quell the bitter tone,
And cast all quarrels where the mist has flown.

A couple? ‘Tis to wait with steadfast heart,
To shun vain dreams and keep from lust apart;
To love one’s spouse with ever-faithful eyes,
And turn from sirens clothed in fair disguise.

A couple? A journey, a destiny shared,
Through heights and depths, when no soul is spared;
But always together, with joined intent,
To build lasting joy in a haven content.

A couple? Two hearts that a promise has tied,
Like rice and like water, flowing side by side;
Never one without the other apart,
Sheltered in love, in their own world of heart.
