LIFE AS TWO (Rasamindrakotroka Andry Tiana)
Mbola tsisy niantsa
(Nalaina tao amin'ny vetso.serasera.org)
The world moves on, the hours slip away,The days fall soft as time begins to sway;
And in our hearts, like some half-hidden stream,
Return the echoes of each silent dream.
There came the winds, the nights devoid of light,
Lost words, and silences that weighed with spite;
Yet hand in hand, unbroken in our will,
We crossed the storm—and chose each other still.
For love is more than just a fleeting spark,
It is a quiet fire that warms the dark;
It lights the days when all seems hard to bear,
And gives each step a meaning we can share.
At times, the tears would fall without a sound,
Yet smiles would rise, persistent and unbound;
Our strength was born of hope we chose to keep,
A faith in dawns that stirred us from the deep.
Yes, sleepless nights, and sheets grown cold with doubt,
Walls raised in fear that shut each other out;
Yet standing firm, we found our way once more,
And faced the storm, as we had done before.
It was not fate that bound our lives as one,
But chosen love—a will that was not undone;
Each unseen step, each trial we endured,
Made real a bond that time itself secured.
We learned to speak, even without a voice,
To seek for peace, and in that peace rejoice;
To walk together paths we could not see,
Held fast by trust, in shared uncertainty.
For life as two still holds its hidden strain,
Its quiet traps, its shadows dressed as pain;
Yet you, my rock, my shelter in the rain,
Remained beside me, constant through the strain.
Not love that fades with seasons passing by,
But promise built where deeper roots may lie;
And day by day, and stone by patient stone,
We shaped a home no fleeting wind has known.
And when at last the children leave the nest,
We find again the bond we once confessed;
We meet anew, with time upon our face,
Yet still the same in soul, in love, in grace.
And in the peace that we have learned to grow,
We hold this love, now rooted deep below;
A life as two—through all that we have been,
Still joined as one, where love has always been.
